Tunturi has been producing work out equipment for 80 years. A new line of the Tunturi is the Tunturi T series which brings a bit of the commercial treadmill machines into the home. They are available at an affordable price. The corporations running machines range in price from about 1500 dollars to about 4000 dollars. The more expensive treadmills are the commercial running machines. Most Tunturi running machines hold around a 245 to 330 lb max weight. Depending what model one buys the max speed is somewhere between 10 mph and 14 mph. They have treadmills that fold to keep on space when one is not using it. Some of their tread mills do not fold though. The treadmill machines vary in sizes and also now all have a built in heart rate reader.
A trainer is a piece of equipment that makes it possible to ride a bicycle without moving forward. They are commonly used to train for races[citation needed] or when riding conditions outside are not favourable. They also allow training in settings like a gym or at home where the user often has the advantage of being able to engage in for example viewing TV at the same time.
Operation
A trainer consists of a frame a clamp to hold the bicycle securely a roller that presses up against the rear wheel and a mechanism that provides resistance when the pedals are turned. In a wind trainer the roller drives fan blades that create air resistance. These are typically the least expensive and noisiest trainers. Magnetic trainers have magnets that resist each other and are moderately expensive and moderately noisy. Some magnetic trainers have handlebar-mounted control boxes to change the level of resistance during a training session. Fluid trainers use liquid-filled chambers to create resistance. They are the most expensive and quietest trainers. A small number of trainers use a centrifugal pressure mechanism to create resistance involving pressure plates ball bearings and specially shaped grooves.
I have Arthritis and my doctor told me I need to start doing some exercises for my knees. He told me the best would be a Stationary Bike. I don’t know a thing about them. I want the best for my money obviously. The only “stipulation” is I live in an apartment so not something too large. Any information will be helpful. Thank you!

How about a gym membership to use the cycles and treadmill or elliptical. I think the option of equipment will be good for you plus you won’t be out the bucks for a bike you may or may not like. It is a little more trouble because you have to go there…. but it gives you the opportunity to get out and use their equipment and develop a routine without the $ layout.
I have arthritis in the knee and I use all three of the pieces…. I prefer all over the bike. I like to bike outside and not in….. I find the elliptical the best burn and I enjoy the treadmill for the rut of a long sustained effort.
